District Tharparkar is divided in to two tracts Barani & Irrigated. Geographical spread over an area of about 22000 Sq. Kms with 1.2 (M) Human population & 4.59 (M) Livestock (Livestock census 2006). Total cultivable land is 2.00 (M) hectors, when timely rainfall occurs 20% barani land is cultivated. Irrigated tract consist over approximately 590009(Fifty nine) Thousands acres Agriculture Land. Normally 30% Land is being cultivated every year. Mithrau Wah is the main source of irrigation, while two distry No.1 Run and No.2 Serhi covers the barrage area for irrigation purpose. Run Distry cover 80% area. Total 90 Water course are existed in barrage area of District Tharparkar from which nearly 85 Water course are running from Run Distry.
